Research Topic Proposal

Finding a research topic is very hard especially when you don’t seem to find a problem in which you would base you topic proposal. The first research topic I have in mind to have a comparative study between the educational system in the Philippines and other countries like Canada and Australia.

I have come up with this idea because I have attended a peer counselling with other youth emigrants in different countries. Before the session ended we have our sharing of our thoughts before and after leaving the country. After that I have noticed that we have all the same problem since Philippines have different educational system to other countries. And because all of us were still studying mostly in high school and college we have think that maybe we will experience a lot of difficulties in adjusting to their educational system. And many of us are doubtful in leaving the country without finishing our studies.

Since that topic was not yet approved by our professor (Sir Randy). I was always thinking of another topic proposal seeing that my other classmates have posted many different topic of research. I was almost discouraged because I find it very hard to find a topic. Gladly, one day when I woke up, I glanced in the newspaper to look for a job vacancy. Then I found one article that talk about the virtual campuses that are now hosting international students. After reading the article, I become interested in doing a research about those virtual campuses which are entertaining students from around the globe. And I have thought of some major problems, if there were any, which they encounter. Happily, after posting it to our research forum, our professors have approved it.

And now, I am already doing my research about second life campus. And I hope to finish it by the first day of October.
